1. Introduction

Hamelia is an Android app for pregnancy tracking and information. This policy covers versions V8 and V9 and use of the Hamelia website. Hamelia does not replace advice, diagnosis or treatment from a healthcare professional.

2. App provider

Ricardo Brea López is the controller for Hamelia, an individual developer established in Spain. Contact: apphamelia@gmail.com. Only the controller accesses the support mailbox; he resides in Egypt and may manage it from there.

3. Information you may enter

Depending on the features you use, you may record the mother's name; pregnancy dates and dating method; the number and names of babies, including multiple pregnancies; birth information; symptoms, mood, water intake, sleep and notes; weight; medication, plans and doses; blood pressure and pulse; baby movements; contractions; completed tasks; and album photos with their pregnancy week and date added. Hamelia also stores preferences such as language, units and illustration skin tone, and Premium access status.

Records may contain sensitive health data and information about babies. Enter only what you want to keep. Selected photos may retain metadata from the original file.

Photos taken with the camera from Hamelia are saved in the app's private album. Hamelia does not implement automatic saving of these photos to the device gallery.

4. How data is stored

Records and album photos are stored in the app's private storage on your device. You do not need a Hamelia account. The app does not use a developer-operated server to store your pregnancy records.

This does not mean that every copy always stays on your device: Android backups, device transfers and files you export or share may create copies elsewhere, as explained below.

5. How data is used

Hamelia uses data to calculate and display pregnancy progress, show weekly information, save and view records, calculate local statistics, manage the plan and album, register a birth and provide the relevant Premium features. Registering a birth does not delete existing records.

From App data, you can export a JSON file containing the pregnancy profile and records for tracking, medication, blood pressure, movements, contractions and completed tasks. The Premium pregnancy report feature generates a PDF with pregnancy information and records such as weight, symptoms, medication, notes, blood pressure, movements and contractions. These files do not include album photos and are not a complete restorable backup. Neither V8 nor V9 has a feature for importing or restoring these files.

Files are created in the app's cache. Android lets you choose an app or recipient to share them with and, where the destination supports it, where to save them. They may contain personal and health data. Hamelia does not sell your personal or health data.

Managing purchases and Premium access, and handling support requests necessary to provide the requested service, rely on performance of a contract or steps requested before entering into a contract (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)). Handling requests to exercise rights relies on compliance with applicable GDPR obligations (Article 6(1)(c)).

General enquiries and limited incident follow-up rely on the legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us and resolving problems (Article 6(1)(f)). Use is limited to that purpose, only necessary information is requested and the stated retention period applies; you may object where applicable. These messages are not used for advertising.

These bases concern the operations specified; they do not give the developer access to your local health records or constitute explicit consent to process health data. You do not need to send health data or photographs for a general enquiry: please avoid including them. Using Hamelia or reading this policy does not in itself constitute explicit consent. Google and GitHub services carry out the processing described under their own policies; no storage region or absence of international transfers is guaranteed.

6. Purchases and Premium features

Google Play Billing handles Hamelia Premium purchases. The app receives purchase information, including its status and the identifier needed to acknowledge it, and stores a local Premium access status. Hamelia does not receive or store your full card details. Google processes payment and purchase information under its policies and terms.

Google Play Billing handles Premium purchases and may process technical information about transactions and diagnostics under Google’s policies. Hamelia does not deliberately use Billing to transmit pregnancy data, photographs or personal notes. Local storage of records does not imply an absence of technical communications with Google Play.

7. Sharing information

Hamelia does not send your pregnancy records to the developer for advertising or commercial exploitation, or share them for those purposes. If you share a JSON or PDF file or save it through an external app, the chosen recipient or provider receives the file under its own terms. Information you choose to email to support also reaches the support mailbox. Avoid sending unnecessary medical information or personal photos.

8. Advertising

Hamelia has no third-party advertisements and does not use your records for personalized advertising.

9. Third-party services and website

Google Play handles distribution and purchases. Android may manage system backups and device transfers depending on your settings, Android version and available services. V8 and V9 allow Android backups and have no specific exclusion for album photos: the system may include records, preferences and images in private storage. Whether backups occur, their actual contents and restoration depend on Android, the device and the provider and are not guaranteed. These system features are separate from Hamelia's JSON and PDF exports.

Hamelia's static website is hosted on the free tier of GitHub Pages. It has no forms, first-party cookies or added analytics, and loads no unnecessary embedded external services. GitHub logs and stores visitors' IP addresses for security purposes and may process other technical data under its privacy statement. This hosting processing is separate from the pregnancy records stored in the app. Following external links or sending email involves services with their own policies. 10. Security

Hamelia uses Android private storage and temporary permissions to share exported files. Protect access to your device and file destinations. Absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

Hamelia does not add its own encryption or password to exported JSON and PDF files. Anyone with access to a file can read its contents. Keep exports in a private, trusted location and share them only with recipients you choose. Any protection provided by your device or destination service depends on that system or service.

11. Data retention and deletion

Records remain while you keep them in Hamelia. The deletion option in App data removes the pregnancy profile and records for tracking, medication, blood pressure, movements, contractions and plan tasks. It preserves Premium access and preferences such as language, units and illustration skin tone.

In V8 and V9, that option does not delete the photo album or clear JSON and PDF files from the cache. Photos are managed and deleted separately from the album. Android or its system controls may clear the cache. Deleting records must not be understood as complete deletion of all Hamelia files.

These actions do not delete gallery originals, files saved or shared outside Hamelia, emails you sent or backups managed by other services. Manage those in their respective location or service. An Android backup made before deletion may restore the data it contains. Uninstalling the app does not guarantee removal of those copies or prevent later restoration. Deleting records does not cancel or refund Google Play purchases.

In V9, deleting an individual photo removes the private copy stored by Hamelia, not the original file in the gallery. The Delete data option does not perform this individual album deletion.

12. Children's data

Hamelia is designed for adults tracking a pregnancy and is not specifically directed at children. Baby names, photos and information you choose to record are handled through the same features described in this policy. Avoid including unnecessary information about other people.

13. Changes to this Privacy Policy

This policy may be updated to reflect feature changes or applicable requirements. The published version will show its update date. Changes requiring additional information or authorization will be handled as appropriate; publishing this policy does not replace that authorization.

14. Contact

For privacy questions, requests about your data or support, email apphamelia@gmail.com. Assistance is provided exclusively by email; no in-person, telephone or postal support is offered. Messages and attachments are used to handle your inquiry or issue and are retained for 90 days after it is closed, unless a legal obligation or justified reason requires longer retention. Send only what is necessary and avoid unnecessary medical attachments or personal photos. The developer cannot remotely access or delete records stored only on your device; use Hamelia's data management options. For external backups and files, also use the relevant service's controls.

You may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection and data portability where applicable by emailing apphamelia@gmail.com and describing your request. Where processing relies on your consent, you may withdraw it without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing. Do not send unnecessary identity documents; if there are reasonable doubts about your identity, we may request proportionate additional information. Requests will be handled within the statutory time limits. The controller cannot remotely access or erase data that remains exclusively on your device; this limitation does not restrict your rights concerning data processed by the controller. You may lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD) or another competent supervisory authority.
